REM to Release New Album in March 2011

R.E.M American legends and rock band has decided to release their 15th studio album.Collapse Into Now,there most popular album was recorded at Hansa Studios in Berlin.The producer Jacknife Lee also worked previously with U2, Bloc Party, and Weezer.

REM’s new record offers plenty of duets including Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder, Lenny Kaye, and Peaches

R.E.M. Records Christmas Single


A number of fan-club have been accumulated by R.E.M.This is their Christmas single since hey first began releasing them in 1988.

In the 1990s the band ditched a format pairing a cheeky cover of a Christmas tune with a ragtag cover of a non-Christmas song (by artists ranging from Mission of Burma to George Gershwin.

R.E.M Anounce New Album 'Collapse Into Now' Tracklisting


The new album "Collapse Into New" which is due in January 2011,features collaborations with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith and Peaches.

In an interview with Spin,Mills said comparing its predecessor, 2008's 'Accelerate' than 'Collapse Into New' is “more expansive”.

A new survey revealed that the song and R.E.M's classic hit 'Everybody Hurts' has been named the song most likely to make men cry.

REM line up guest stars for new album


The REM band's bass guitar player Mike Mills has revealed,REM's forthcoming album features a series of cameos from various music stars.

Album Collapse Into Now has been ready to release in the start of January 2011,the album includes the contribution from Patti Smith, Peaches and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder.

He said that the album has different variety of songs which will definitely be appreciated by their fans

"We wanted to put more variety into it," the bass guitar player explained.

"There are some really slow, beautiful songs, there are some nice, mid-tempo ones and then there are three or four rockers."

Berlin, New Orleans and Nashville are the main locations where they records the album and really enjoyed visiting that places

Earlier this year, REM's 1981 single Radio Free Europe was selected as one of 25 songs to be included in the US National Recording Registry housed at the Library of Congress.

R.E.M name guest vocalists


R.E.M's latest album features Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith and Peaches.

The band's fifteenth album, 'Collapse Into Now', features three guest singers alongside regular vocalist Michael Stipe and has been described by the band as a "very personal, very human record", in contrast to their politically slanted last album, 'Accelerate'.

Bassist and keyboardist Mike Mills told Spin.com: "With Accelerate we were trying to make a point by making the songs as short and as fast as possible.

"So we wanted this new one to be more expansive. We wanted to put more variety into it and not limit ourselves to any one type of song.

Describing the variety of songs on the album, Mike added: "There are some really slow, beautiful songs; there are some nice, mid-tempo ones; and then there are three or four rockers."

The tracks which feature guest vocals are album closer, 'Blue' which includes Patti, 'It Happened Today' with Pearl Jam singer Eddie and an as-yet untitled track with Peaches; although Mike promised the name of the song will include the word 'Alligator'.

'Collapse Into Now' is set for release next year.

Work on the group's fourteenth album, Accelerate, commenced in early 2010. The band recorded with producer Jacknife Lee in Vancouver and Dublin, where it played five nights in the Olympia Theatre between June 30 and July 5 as part of a 'working rehearsal'. R.E.M. Live, the band's first live album (featuring songs from a 2005 Dublin show), was released in October 2010.

DONATION OF SCULPTURE TO HAITI RELIEF ART AUCTION BY MICHAEL.



REM's Michael is one of over 200 artists who have created Marcel Duchamp-inspired "ready-made" works of art for New York City's landmark Tools For Thought: Rebuild Haiti Art Auction.

The event, which kicks off with an online auction on March 10th, is slated to raise money for Partners in Health, an organization which has been doing ground-level relief work in Haiti for over twenty years.

REM start work on new album with Jacknife Lee - video

R.E.M have started work on their new album, with frontman Michael Stipe posting two behind the scenes videos of the band in the studio online - watch them by clicking below.Producer Jacknife Lee, who worked on the band's 2008 album 'Accelerate', is again with them in the studio according to a post on the band's website, Remhq.com.

Although Stipe does not speak in either of the videos (below), fans are able to hear snippets of music the band are working on
